Some case studies:

• One ISV wanted to conceptualize a great application that could excite a major operator to push their software to handset OEMs. My team & I proposed several ideas, selected a few, converged on one and then we wrote the specs for the service, high level design, detailed call flow and use cases.
• An operator wanted to move to an all IP backbone, and  thought of IMS. But are the vendors ready with IMS? My team & I worked on translating their business goals to trackable specs, designed a network architecture, validated vendor products and made final recommendations
• An enterprise PBX manufacturer wanted to know market trends and technology readiness for a certain aspect of technology they wanted to migrate to. So we analyzed the market for them, mapped their features to their competitors, compared roadmaps and also gave an update and prediction on technology standards readiness
• An OEM wanted to figure out what they can do to connect VoIP and Social Networks so that telcos could benefit from more business models. Conceptualized use-cases, drew architecture flows and call flows. Also took on some popular Social Networking sites of today and specified exactly how to make them interwork
• An OEM wanted to keep up-to-date of how mobile SIP (3G, TISPAN) was evolving without having to travel to meetings and sort through hundreds of change requests. My team worked with them to provide regular updates for a fraction of the cost in a comprehensive and analytical manner
• A new startup wanted to migrate their cool application from wireline VoIP to wireless VoIP. So we worked with them to draw out what changes they need to make. And while we are at it, we also told them how to scale their product better, which they accepted and re-designed
• A certain greenfield operator wanted to know how their Push to Talk solution would be affected if they introduced WLAN access to subscribers. We did a system analysis and performance impact and came out with a detailed evaluation matrix so they could go back to their PoC vendor with specifics
• Lots of other equally diverse stuff
